Act like a local in Antwerp .be

* Always refer to Antwerp as "the city"€ ('˜t stad) because to Antwerpians, it'€™s obvious that their city is the centre of the world

* Never feed pigeons. It makes you look very stupid and if a supervisor catch you, it will cost you between 50€ and 250€

* Young locals never buy or eat "€œAntwerp hands" (cookies or chocolate in the shape of a hand). Only tourists or crazy people pay a lot of money for chocolate. Just go to a supermarket and stuff yourself with any kind you want. Favourits are Côte d'€™Or and Jacques.

* Always talk very loud and have an opinion on everything. In Antwerp this is considered normal, in the rest of Belgium it is considered very annoying

* Grow a moustache! Antwerpians have a thing about it. There'€™s lots of moustache clubs. The wifes and girlfriends of the members automatically become a member too, even if they don'€™t have a hairy lip

* Bad news for the Japanese: taking pictures of yourself in front of a statue is considered abnormal.
